End-User Guides
This guide explains how merchants use the HaloPay POS terminal in daily operations.
1. Onboarding and KYC
Merchants complete KYC before receiving payments. This process usually clears within 24 hours.
- Open the HaloPay app.
- Go to Merchant Settings.
- Upload front and back photos of a valid Government ID.
- Take a clear selfie.
- Submit for compliance review.
2. Receiving Offline Payments
You can accept payments without internet access.
- Enter the fiat amount on the POS keypad.
- The POS calculates the USDC amount using a cached exchange rate.
- The app displays a SEP-0007 QR code.
- The buyer scans the QR code with a Stellar wallet (e.g. Vibrant) and signs the transaction.
3. End-of-Day Settlement
When you reconnect to the internet, the POS processes settlements.
- The POS syncs offline logs to the backend.
- The backend converts USDC balances through a SEP-24 off-ramp.
- Funds arrive in your local bank account or mobile wallet. Transfer times range from 1 to 3 hours depending on the local anchor.
